... is a city deep in gray scale - the mist off the lake mutes most of the buildings to white or dull stone colors, and I have yet to see a local wearing anything but black. Even the other study abroad students seem to all be wearing black, while I am very warm but not particularly sleek or urban in my turquoise coat and cargo ski pants.

We enjoyed a leisurely drive to Cruseilles and were happily surprised when we rounded the bend and saw the Chateau des Avenieres standing very proud on the hill.
It is a beautiful building and we have a stunning room at a great price because it is neither popular summer nor in demand for the skiing season.
