The hotel isn't in the most convenient location to see the tourist attractions but it is closer to the beach than others. Staff was average. Facilities and food were average as well. Probably won't stay here again as location is more important to me.

Barcelona is crazy expensive in August (as I imagine most of Western/Southern Europe is). Hostels are a good and cost-effective option for young travellers but better suited to singles. I found decent spots for about 30 Euros per person in the co-ed dorms, but private rooms in hostels were about 45-60 Euros per person or more. To kick off our trip we wanted a good balance of comfort and ...

... a few of the nights but couldn't do it every night like most people were trying to get us to. I still love all the Gaudi stuff especially his sculpture of the lizard/dragon creature in Park Guell. At first we struggled to find places to eat as I couldn't read Catalan menus and my Spanish isn't good enough to say what all the plates were in Spanish. After our first failures in this front we did start ...
