    ... and then up to 6 years is spent by the tapestry artist to complete the weave. Gobelin tapestry only accept commissions that they like and of course the majority go to grand chateaux, cathedrals, and public buildings. We saw some modern art efforts being made but the traditional designs are to our taste. Unfortunately photos were not allowed of the works in progress.     ... went out. Great to catch up with them as well. Got a text 6.30 to say they were still in the queue! They arrived home after 9 but had enjoyed seeing Paris from the tower at night. It's my birthday! Didn't feel any different! Lots of messages on my phone, Facebook and a visit for. Allison and rob then Garry and Chris.     Today we wandered to the louvre a short time after it opened to try to beat the crowds. As we walked into the centre courtyard we bumped into the back of the queue. About 200 metres long. Bugger. Anyway it moved pretty quickly and soon we were inside. The kids wanted to see the Mona Lisa . So did everybody else .     ... on a bus as there are no trains going to Pied de port today) So, back to Paris. We had an AMAZING week.
