    ... end, like 30 minutes to get from airport in Cologne to the connecting train to our new destination of Brussels but at least we are on the plane.     Our long day of traveling began with a long morning of getting ready. John made amazing omelettes for breakfast. They had caramelized onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, brie and spices. We also had these little sweet bread slash muffin things called Madeline's(?). Yum. After breakfast we made sandwiches for the train and packed our bags.     ... costumes filled the square. We walked around the tents and were given samples of Belgium cheese, bread and chocolate!

    Probably the strangest detail I noticed was that the people in the city walked at a regular pace (regular, of course, referring to our fast American pace). I have plenty experience as a tour guide for Italian students and getting them to walk faster than a crawl is usually our biggest issue. The people of Brussels also dressed pretty trendy and I saw a lot of modern fashion as I would wear.
