Our long day of traveling began with a long morning of getting ready. John made amazing omelettes for breakfast. They had caramelized onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, brie and spices. We also had these little sweet bread slash muffin things called Madeline's(?). Yum. After breakfast we made sandwiches for the train and packed our bags. We also attempted to cut John's hair with the clippers. I would say that it is pretty good for two people who have never done that sort ...

It was built in 1880's so has many nooks and crannies. Slasher and I ...

It is held on a Wednesday and when the weather is warm the streets are packed with people. Rose is the summer drink of choice here so we happily partook. Belgian weather is a bit like Melbourne. One minute it was beautiful and sunny, the next people were running for cover as the ...

      Week 6 - Belgium

... What I did particularly enjoy was trying to follow the signs to McDonalds (Speculoos McFlurry.. wow!) which stated "100m ahead". 1km later. "McDonalds 100m ahead". 1km later. "McDonalds 100m ahead". That McFlurry was worth it though. The city seems to be an average, commercial and political (hence, boring) city. It's only when you go to the big touristy areas (Grand Place and the few streets around there) that you actually get to see the beautiful ...
