... We have meet several other couples at Pont de Vaux, so spent the next few days with them. Went to the local markets, had BBQs, repaired the boat. And then, Finally, finally, got underway. We sailed back to Gigney, said hello to our rescuers, spent the night, and all went well. We had the best meal we have had in France at the local restaurant over looking the river Soane and our boat. A stunning view of a hilltop chateau where we took many photos. Shortly after ...

Stunning Beaujolais wine country today. Our cycling through vineyards was spectacular. Several very steep hills followed by downhill stretches. The best cycling yet. A picnic lunch at a small cafe - a nice salad. Ready for it after a very long steep hill, several hours after breakfast and thereby low on energy. After lunch a short trip to the Beaujolais vineyard appellation bonnet, followed by a short but steep climb to ...

... the bikes to ride round the lake and off into the countryside, hardly meting a car all of the time.
Another couple of pictures of the site and lake added.
The ACSI review in English says "planned for an overnight stop, stayed 2 weeks" we can see why and were sad to leave as no more swimming pools which are needed in the temperatures forecast for this week.
Obernai/Strasbourg here we come with another long leg 0f 335 km before we ease off for the German section and home.
