Just the job for a 3 night stay. Right across the road from the station and a short walk from the central lakeside area. Nice room if a little compact and breakfast in the mornings. Enjoyed sitting out on our balcony of an evening too.

Lydia had arranged for a late check out for us, 3pm, for an extra €15. We woke up at 6.30am to have breakfast with Anthony at 7am. Roger had already left at about 6.15am with about 6 other people on a shuttle bus that Lydia had arranged. At least, he is not going to the airport on his own. We had breakfast with Rosa and Miriam, as well as …

Unfortunately when it rains there isn't a huge amount to do in the city. We however used our rainy to see some of the cities museums. The old town is home to the cities cathedral St-Pierre, with it's very decorative Chapel of the Maccabees, which is certainly worth seeing. It is free to enter the cathedral and chapel however if you with to go up …

We were fortunate to see the city in beautiful sunshine and the lakeside area with it's impressive fountain, boats and bridges is gorgeous on a nice day. There is a wealth of waterfront activities on offer especially in the high season including boat trips, swimming beaches and water skiing. There are a number of boat trips on offer whether you …

... apartment blocks, bought some groceries for dinner, decided there wasn't really anything else on our bucket list and caught the bus home for a relaxing afternoon putting my feet up for a rest and watching more West Wing episodes (I just can't get enough of that show). Maybe travelling half way around the world to sit and watch TV may sound a bit odd, but we have been on the go for 6 weeks now, and the occasional few hours of doing nothing is awesome. I don't think I moved until ...

Tues - The Schulz family arrived (Tara's brother Todd, wife Dawn, and kids Keanna and Owen). We all tooled around Geneva on more free bikes and stopped to have dinner at a restaurant known for its fondue. The big bowl of melted cheese and bigger stack of bread was enough for all of ...
