... homes with quarter to half acre yards that slope down the the river. There are a few along the way that make into manor status. There are a few factories along the river but not nearly as many as along the Oise and the Canal du Nord. The locks are wider than the Freycinet standard 5.05 meters, and a little longer, but the commercial barges here are rarely bigger than a standard Penjche of 38 meters. ... if you stand in front of each art work for 1 minute, it would take three months to see it all. I understand that as we go through and see what is there. I am glad for our guide as the labyrinth of rooms gets confusing and you forget which way to go. There were three main pieces that the majority of people come to see. The Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo and The Winged Victory. All superb to look at. The most popular would be the Mona Lisa. It is ...

... gardens. I choose to stay relatively dry under a tent. We then went into Amiens and during our free time went to the cathedral. It is magnificent. Similar to the Notre Dame in Paris, it must be twice if not three times as big. Our host family comes with us for the walk and then we pop into a pub for a drink. The afternoon concert with the Amiens brass band goes well and we finish with a joint rendition of gangnam style. Oh how sick of that song I am!! But the ...
