... is struggling and there is not much to do other than have a brief walk round it and head on up the valley to pastures new. This Aire is actually a bit of a joke. They ask 8€ per night it's a long bay for 12 camper vans and you can only just open the doors it's that tight. A stunning view of a hilltop chateau where we took many photos. Shortly after ...

After lunch a short trip to the Beaujolais vineyard appellation bonnet, followed by a short but steep climb to ...

... three times to be admitted. After the revolution the land was sold off and the family managed to retain the chateau which was renovated and modified in the 18th century. The chateau is still in the family ownership. The bedrooms in the tower, the courtyard, chapel, guard room, kitchen and the Legend rooms are part of the tour. The rooms have been furnished and decorated in the 16th century. We drove further south an stopped briefly at ...

    ... is another matter.

We pay a visit to Aix-les-Bains which is a spa town that was frequented by Queen Victoria, sadly its past its best, especially on a grey day. On we go to Annecy, we wait in the car until the rain slows down and as we have come all this way we venture out in kagouls and sporting umbrellas. It is a beautiful town, by a lake but as night is descending we head for home.

    When ...
