Whilst booking in a phone rang, without a word, and with what I thought was a glint in his eye, Le Patron handed it to Madame - "Pour vous, Madame" I could see Madame's brow tighten - "How could anyone know that I'm here?!!". At the other end of the line in english "Can I book a place for three nights we're Danish and coming from Avignon". The crafty old bugger!! Madame with great relief and some amusement, obligingly translated.

    ... to play and run around without any hassles. Dave and Jenny prepared the starting of the Beef, so we could eat it for dinner the following night. The next day we decided to go to Cluny to visit the Abbey and the town centre. We were lucky, as it was Saturday, and there was a market on.     The other side, we settled into the 430 mile journey south via Dijon to Macon. We had only picked the town because it had a hotel and Buffalo Grill in close proximity to each other and the motorway. The Ibis Budget hotel was just as expected – clean and boring however the meal was
    great and the little bar opposite the hotel filled the rest of the evening, getting us in the holiday mood nicely.

    ... three times to be admitted. After the revolution the land was sold off and the family managed to retain the chateau which was renovated and modified in the 18th century. The chateau is still in the family ownership. The bedrooms in the tower, the courtyard, chapel, guard room, kitchen and the Legend rooms are part of the tour.
