This Saturday I spent the day in a beautiful mountain town towards Switzerland. It's not a very big town so there wasn't much to do for more than a day but it was a great day trip! We left Lyon at 7am, got there at 9am and then left around 6:30pm.

We started the day looking at the lake which is surrounded by mountains. It was so pretty and the water was so clear you could see all ...

In five days, I'll be leaving Geneva for an amazing adventure. This week is going to be busy, because I still have to do a lot before the departure.

I did already all my paperwork for the travelling, my vaccines are all done and my luggages are almost ready too.

      Let's go!

... of the "free walks" offered in other cities where you pay what you fee the guide is worth, we paid very handsomely for this one. What I can tell you about Geneva is that it is picturesque with the lake and mountains and very expensive. The guide did tell us that the wages were very high but I guess for what they pay for housing, food and clothes they would have to be. Well signing of for now - early train tomorrow for Milan. Love to all - miss you - Mum and ...

... tram and tottered along with Miriam and the 3 Americans to the United Nations site. Classic photo shots at the entrance turned into a girly afternoon in the botanical gardens before a tour of the sacredly neutral building covered in security. We learnt about the meetings held in the abundant conference rooms, the translators and the meaning behind all the art décor that’s been donated by UN countries. It’s a place I wouldn’t write home about except ...
