... little villages, well this was that sort of country. Unfortunately like so much of France, this being a Sunday, most of the little shops and artisans studios in the Cite Medievale were closed, but the buildings, cemetry, city wall and cobbled streets were well worth going to see. ... divine treats. I had a Raspberry tart, the boys had a chocolate eclair each, Mum & Dad also had the Raspberry tart and D had a chocolate croissant. We have never spent so much money on morning tea - it cost us over $55 Australian dollars, but it was worth every cent (especially to get warm and out of the rain!!). ... amazing, perhaps more than 200 stalls throughout the long street. There is the old town reaching down to the lakeside and surrounding the two rivers which merge around the Palais de l'Isle. The lake is surrounded by the Aips and it's absolutely magical beautiful and about 40 km from the Swiss border. It is a perfect spot for romantic getaway, or family vacation.

I would recommend Annecy to anyone who is headed toward the Alps !!!
