... a great guide for this tour - a university student studying archeology and history so this site is right up her alley. No one knows why the stones are standing or what their purpose was and the site was only declared heritage in 1991 which means that many stones were taken and used for building houses. It was a very interesting tour, even though we were rained on quite heavily a couple of times. We headed back to ...

... and we're ready to head off at the appointed time of 9am. Outside, it's a wonderfully cool morning with a bit of a sun shower happening. Quite a difference from yesterday, thankfully. ... as they covered quite a lot of ground. They were very impressive to see and certainly fascinated Rose. Leaving Carnac we then travelled for another hour to see something called The Universe Of The Scrap Metal Poet. This was an installation of moving sculptures created by an eccentric ex-teacher in a small Brittany village. Using discarded scrap materials, he created an impressive number of impressive indoor scenes and outdoor sculptures over a period of ...

Took the car out to Piriac sur Mer today to explore the coastal area south east of Vannes. It didn't disappoint, nice old port and quaint coastal town. We stopped off for a lakeside walk in the village of Asserac on the way there, and coffee and a bit of shopping in Roche St Bernard on the way ...
