    ... past and went into one of the cubicles. Sue was following me and I heard her ask if the toilets were open. On being told "Non!" she had to go about a hundred yards to search for the only other block on site. Other campers were also wandering round like there was a treasure hunt going on.     ... remnants of it were evident. Throughout centre ville there were flags flying and big flowerpots everywhere. Looked like they had had a great celebration.

    So, the chateau section of the EV6 has come to an end for us. We wonder what will unfold in the next section of the Loire a Velo route. Although we will definitely miss the outline of chateaus appearing before us, we are looking forward to the next section. I'm sure it will have its charms.

    ... the chain came active again, and so on. It was quite interesting.

    Other excursions went to the ancient heart of Clermont-Ferrand (which, by the ways, is the headquarters of the Michelin tire company), and the Medieval city of Thiers, long a center for knife-making.     Marboue (N48 6.744' E1 19.722'). Another Aire. Toilets and emptying facilities for free, but Electricity and Water are chargeable (Electricity 2Euro for 55 minutes, extortion!). There is space for about ten vans, and, by evening it is full. Not surprising really, it is a very pleasant spot, on the banks of the River Loir and off the busy main road (N10).

    It is here, I find, the helpful French people at Uzerche did not do the internet registration ...
