... hands of the Caesar. I have to say that I saw the arena through a tourist eye and not as a spectator that must have witnessed barbarism at its worst! There is restoration going on as we speak and hats off the France for recognising the quality of history they have in their towns and cities. The arena is still used today as a cultural hub where it hosts concerts, festivals and cultural events through out the summer however, its ...

It truly feels like a little country village with its narrow little streets and homes built almost on the side of the roads, there are little bakeries, flower markets and fruit and veg shops, along with little restaurants and bars on the main street. Today has been another great day. Good run, if not a bit hot, good lessons. Ate lunch in the park with Manami, Debs and Emilie, then went for a nutella flavoured ice cream (amazing!). Spent some time in a great bookshop - Gilbert Joseph - and I want to spend a bit more time there but running out of opportunities now! Had my first Skype interview today... In French... With a Québecoise! It ...

... are constantly made to feel as if we are standing still when other cars are flying past us at what seems like twice the speed!

Just stopped at another of their rest stops or "road houses" for fuel. France really do them well, full bistro dining, cafes, gift shops, lovely outside garden rest areas and impeccable facilities. (And in one stop - wine tasting! though this was in the Bordeaux area).
