        After breakfast Dave and I opted for an optional excursion which took us on the Ardeche Steam Train. We enjoyed a scenic ride along the Ardeche Mountains. The train took us to places that tour busses could not. We saw spectacular views of waterfalls, gorges and deep valleys. There also was an aqueduct built to store and provide water for the region.         ... on the river Rhone and we had a lovely walk in the SUN SHINE as the photos will prove.

        We found a nice camp site 5 mins out of town and have just come back from a walk around the village and a glass of red, so we could use the Internet. Tomorrow we plan to carry onto Avignon, find a nice camp site and settle down for 4/5 days and hope we have seen the last of the rain.

        It will be great to actually see something other than the backs of ...

        ... the ship stays on the ship. Needless to say we had a late morning, forgoing the excursions, and with a number of others decided to stay on the ship this morning. It is raining as well so catching up with ourselves and organising a few things ready for our Sat departure to the airport and the beginning of our journey home via Singapore.         ... pushed some debris eg logs into our propeller system which is being fixed today. Plus other boats were in our mooring. The smaller, older of these weren't compatible with our ship so we couldn't tie up along side and connect our gangway to walk through their ship. So we had to back up and re manoeuvre next to two other ships, making 3 abreast, so we could get to shore through these other two. Meant we had a later start to our days activities but ...

        ... its aromas and flavours. I prefer to just eat it which we eventually did with lots of samples and a few purchases. Note that they may not make it home as purchased! Very picturesque little place, both sides of the river which we explored a little till lunch. We went for a quick walk after lunch made quicker by the beginning of another downpour. So we are now cruising down the river towards Viviers on the way to Avignon in Provence later in the week for which Lyn is hanging ...
