    Just when we thought Venice was the most beautiful place we would visit in Italy, Varenna may have beaten it into second place. Neither of us can get our heads round the fact that we are actually seeing what's around us. The apartment is amazing and the views from the balcony alone are worth the trip. Claire has also befriended a blind cat so we keep having to think of excuses to go and see the lady so Claire can rub the cat.

    ... drum, an empty can with rocks in it for a shaker, two sticks to hit together and our voices. It was a lot of fun, but I'm not so sure we sounded so great. Oh wait a minute... Did I just admit that?? We sounded phenomenal!! We spent some time climbing a fantastic mountain with a breathtaking view and exotic climbs. We could see the snow topped mountains of Switzerland, along with the valleys of fall coloured trees, with a smattering of houses. Quite the contrast. ...

    On the bus to Lagura Switzerland, free time for coffee and shopping in the markets. Weather is very cold here. We took the bus to the cable car up the mountain called Monte Tamaro.     Albeit small, the museum contained some interesting artifacts. Roger found a series of paintings on wood dating to the 15th century to be particularly intriguing.
