    Day 1

A travel blog entry by joey3105 on Oct 06, 2014

The adventure begins of Canada and America. With a nice 4 am departure from East Langdon heading to London Heathrows new terminal 2 for the 7 hour flight to Toronto. Dad drove me up on the empty roads and dropped me off with a small good bye and have fun. Walking into this new glass and metal building looking for signs for Air Canada to drop my bag off. It absolutely bucketed down with rain last night while we were out having our evening meal so we weren't sure what to expect this morning. We woke to cloudy skies but dry tarmac. It was fairly evident straight away (without venturing outside) that the wind had picked up significantly.

restaurants, a campsite and a road to the beach.

    Of course, not ...

We were up at 6am in readiness to get down to the docks for an 8.25am ferry. Because we were all up and about by 6.30am, Tim suggested that we try for the earlier ferry at 7.25am. We all set off at 6.55am only to be caught in a queue being checked by the French customs, which is almost unheard of! Needless to say, we didn't leave any earlier and, after ringing our friend Doug to wish him a "Happy 70th Birthday", we boarded our original ferry at about 8am. We made straight for the ...
