On Wednesday we get up, have breakfast and pack a lunch ready for an action-packed day. It's not raining, but it is cloudy, so we don’t want to hang about. We have a photo of the board that shows our cycle route in case we get lost, and off we go. The route we have chosen is 18km (just under 12 miles), mostly around the lake. It is a delightful ride, with a stop along the way where we can see how the lake has been expanded over the years, and the wildlife that can be found ...

8000kms, 13 countries, and we are back in the UK for our final few weeks.

UK, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Monaco.

The tide was right out and people (mainly Mums but we don’t want to be chauvinistic) pushed prams right down to the water’s edge. Unfortunately we chose to lunch in the village centre. Unfortunate because no more than an hour later we walked back along there and the tide had already come 50m up the beach and was lapping up walls of the esplanade. Must be quite a sight watching a tide surge in like that. ...

    ... hour north of Calais.
    Good enough.

I've spent three weeks cruising the UK on my own, I can do another day on my own in Belgium, As long as I can find a service station that will take my card, or cash (Harder that you'd think). And someone willing to speak English to me.

I'm convinced that the french speaking world are trying to hide everything from the English.
There are very few Service centres on the highways, for ...

This morning we got to the ferry terminal at Dover so early that they offered us passage on an earlier sailing, so we left at just after 10am, arriving at Calais an hour and a half later. Unfortunately today was a bit overcast, so we didn't get a good look at the white cliffs of Dover in the sunshine. Hopefully when we cross back...
Initially the driving was a bit of a challenge, but we ...
