... quite a while in the cathedral....just amazing. It's hard to fathom just how old it is and how it was built. To think we climbed the same stairs that Thomas Becket once climbed. It's a huge place with enormously high ceilings. Then a short drive to board the ferry for the trip across the channel to France. We've lost an hour so it's become very late very quick.....but doesn't feel like it, still light at ...

... was happy to tell them about our travels and they were very impressed with the fact that we were visitors from Australia! In fact, they were so happy, they came and found us in the Museum to take a photo for their Facebook page. and was brown and flat. Would have been excellent conditions to fish in back in

After booking in to the campsite, we headed back to the
beach on our bikes and took a short ride along the top of the cliffs to admire
the view. From here we set off to try and find a shop to buy some provisions.

... 24 hours. Even this morning there were stories pf long delays for lorries. As we drove to the terminal the queue of lorries stretched back to the motorway, but cars went through easily and we even went straight in to the holding area without going to the terminal first. That has never happened before. In fact, the whole crossing was about the smoothest ever, a clear achievement in a peak day with persistent rain. Coming back was even better as our shuttle left 10 minutes ...
