I grabbed some lollies and a couple of coffees over the 3 hours to stay awake. The plane rides weren’t very exciting, I slept the whole ride to Brisbane airport. I touched down at 7:50 am the next morning. Went through the border security and it took another 40 minutes and I was finally on the train home.

... out that evening for the overnight bus, the Brisbane girls were sitting in the bar. No time to chat as running for the transfer bus into town. Over night bus this time to Airlie Beach. Should take about 10hrs or so. Seems a lot when you think about it but getting use to these long bus journeys. Still going to use the car & train at home though, I order to get around. Frank X P.S. Spitting into the fire on Frasier Island is frowned upon by aborigines. As is whistling. They believe it brings bad ...

... fairly gentle walk down (and up!). I then went for a bit of culture to see the Everglades House and Gardens, which was built in the 1920s and art deco inside and out. It was interesting to see but it was disappointing in that the furniture wasn’t originally from the house and has been sourced since, but is from the era – I remember seeing similar furniture in my nan’s house years ago!
