... stunningly beautiful. But you can’t even walk on the grass in the Tuilleries gardens!!! It is all fenced off! Because of the heat we decided to follow the locals and take a break in the shade of a huge tree in he Louvre gardens. This break turned into a 1.5 hour nap! Ha guess we needed it. We went on to see the giant Obelisk in the Plaza de le Concord (or something like that) that Napolean stole from the Egyptians and further on along Champs-Elysees and to the Arc ...

... A central landmark of Paris, it is located on the Right Bank of the Seine. We jumped off our bus where we hopped on, had lunch in a little cafe across the road to Notre Dame and joined the queue to visit the Cathedral. While waiting you could see a storm was coming and just as we were going to enter the heavens opened up. We love the audio's to listen to as we walk on our tours. I am pretty sure I checked before we left Oz if there were any public holidays - and Paris snuck one on me. A big one apparently. (Not that big one - Bastille Day). But a celebration of the end of WWII. Yikes.

We knew today was going to be a challenge because the weather forecast was so bad. So we decided to set out early, get some groceries, quickly cook up breakfast, take in the Louve...yeah...Nothing was open that early in the morning and ...

Today we headed out to get photos of the beautiful Easter displays at the famous Fauchon gourmet shop. We took the metro to the Madeleine station & found the store right away. Couldn't believe what we saw, nothing! No Easter displays in the window, just a pink box filled with chocolates. Maybe there was a grand display inside, no, not one in the store, either. The store was very upscale and for serious foodies NOT on a budget!
