      ... atrium which is world renowned. Yesterday they put up Christmas lights along our street but have not yet turned them on. They promise to be spectacular. We came home for a little study and then, you guessed it, it was time for dinner, we had a reservation at Robert et Louise's, which is our comfort home away from home, a delicious steak for Meg and Rognons de veau for Laurie and a nice bottle of red.       ... one of Paris's cemeteries - Cimetiere du Pere Lachaise. Slightly macabre this business of walking around a cemetery celebrity spotting. Managed to find Chopin and Jim Morrison although Edith Piaf, Marcel Proust and Oscar Wilde eluded us. We leave Paris tomorrow after a busy week but plenty of reasons to return - no visit to the Louvre (caught out by it being closed on Tuesdays) and no frog's legs ...

      ... wasn’t much to see, but it completed our experience.

      Our day felt full already, but it was only 4:00. We headed back to the center of Paris, briefly stopped in the Tuilleries Garden, but spent the majority of the afternoon in Luxembourg gardens at the pond by the Luxembourg Palace. Orangina and French pastries in hand, we looked at the beautiful flowers, watched adorable French children play with rented sailboats, and just relaxed. It was perfect.

      ... definitely not a cheap place and the barman only gets $15 Aussie an hour and a pint is $12 which works out to be $9 a schooner ( there for a sec I thought I was back in WA) and the tucker well no matter what you ordered it came with French fries and if you were real lucky you got lettuce as well !!!'       ... not excessive, even a little bit kitsch? Had we reached so high that we were over the top? Had the Sun King overdone it just a little bit?
