    Awaking each morning to tea and toast etc. served to our room whenever we desire (6:30 for me) and having it on the balcony as the ship comes in to the next port is an unforgettable experience. This we did again today as we arrived at Marseilles - La Joliette. The view is stunning and we later enjoyed it more as we had 'proper breakfast' on the Terrace upstairs with John and Melinda.     "Ohh, don't go to Marseille, Marseille is...how you say....like Baltimore. " These were the words that were ringing in my ears for years - spoken by a french friend some time ago. Now, not to get into the relative merits of Baltimore -- but needless to say, what I took away from this conversation was that Marseilles was not very nice and not worth a visit. Wow.
