great location which just infront tram station, walking distance to tourist hotspot. clean environment . the only problems is the lack of lift.We need to wait for the lift for quite a time especially during morning ( peak hour). other than that, its good.

This was very much as we expected. A decent sized room but basic. There was however air-conditioning which was a bonus as Melbourne was very hot when we were there (early Nov). The hotel was in a great location, handy for sights, restaurants, public transport etc. Also the staff were very helpful and friendly.

This budget hotel is right in the heart of the city, a three minute walk from Flinders Street Station; there are trams and a variety of eateries from pubs/cafes to specialty cupcake shops to a supermarket that stocks pre-packaged meals, right outside the door. Otherwise HF1 has all the basic amenities you would expect (no fridge), is neat and clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Great if you're on a budget and have a show to see in the city, or if you're visiting Melbourne and plan to not spend much time in your room.

James, their son, was eager to chime in to confirm that, yes, "Daddy is wearing a mask". Henry did not seem too impressed with all the attention. Despite my amusement at Henry's cautious approach to air travel, it would be me who wished I had taken similar precautions when I awoke with a scratchy throat ...
