      They are very quick and efficient. A truck arrives in 30 minutes and we load the bike and are off the highway and back at the breakdown depot an hour later.

      It's after six now so no chance of a fix tonight. Axa book me a hotel and send a taxi. It's quite comical because the hotel, unknown to me, is only 300 metres down the road. Could have walked.

      ... got to our Chambres d'hotes, and our hostess was gone. She had left a note with keys and said she'd return shortly. That was a 3:45. We drove to another wine tasting shop just two doors down and had some more wine. Once again the only one I tasted that I half liked was the sparkling wine and it had too many bubbles.

      ... bagful!

      And then a most interesting discovery...a large, dusty corner of the market is devoted entirely to the sale of live animals, primarily poultry, but several plump lapins (yep, fuzzy little bunny rabbits) also in their cages, awaiting the fates! Row upon row of the above-named La Bresse chickens (in their live state) and their lowly brothers, the regular poulets, geese, canards, ...

      ... arrived in Nice at about 6.15pm.... Stephan had said "easy parking, close to the apartment" so we drove around & around & around for ages... no parking! Tiny spaces between every car & no spare spaces anywhere! We gave up & parked across the street at the Interpark near the Port. At what we thought was 20 Euro per 2 hours we were worried!

      We picked up the keys & checked out ...

      ... New Zealand couple we are moored alongside. There are lots of red ensigns in the marina as we had heard it was a good base to over winter.
