      ... completely inhabitable yet there were clearly still people using them! We also so a lot of buildings that had been burnt down and just left to rot into complete disrepair. It was actually pretty saddening to see as we had heard that Jakarta is one of the world’s great "Megopolises".

      Here is my apartment, it's not so good. The appearance is mediocre, but the rest is a shambles.

      Everything is broken, the washing machine and air conditioning don't work. My bed is DISGUSTING. With stains on the mattress and a U shaped indentation from years of use. It is also just lying on the floor. I can't believe that someone looked at this mattress and simply put a sheet on it and expected me to sleep on it.

      ... up and down the main drag people watching the working girls and their clients, bought some juice from a coffee chain proud of much they'd ripped off the starbucks logo, and then got the tube to the promenade area. Saw the fountain of wealth and went for steak. The singapore flyer is only open til half 10 so we'll do that tomorrow We spent £65 on dinner....well you have to do it now and then. Was amazing steak too, seriously seriously happy diners. Current traveller ...

      ... knew me. I started by saying hello and introducing myself... or I tried to, at least. The kids (not all of them are kids but most here were) were answering questions about me for the other students. I've never had to answer (and NOT answer) so many questions about myself.
      I had planned a couple games but I couldn't even get to them. It was, quite literally, more information about myself than I've given in an interrogation (or at least questioning by police). Or a lie detector test. ...
