    ... the old town - lots of people (glad we are not here in summer) and the main city street, went into at least 6 churches or cathedrals , and also briefly visited the Modern and Contemporary Art Museum, an unbelievably stunning building of steel and glass with great city views. Can't say WE would buy any of the art on view, though. Train home, supermarket dinner and bed,walked at least 13,000 steps ...

    ... into Nice, it's a short trip...only 15 minutes or so. There is much to see and do there, so we will spend the day.

    Random thoughts: The WC's here in France can be quite an adventure in and of themselves. The standup ones are interesting to learn. And, if you can't find the flusher, try the chain hanging above your head. Can't find where to turn on the sink? Try a foot pedal. The different sizes of the bathroom sinks are just phenomenal, ...

    ... etc....I ran into Opa and we tried to find the store John had talked about, but asked directions and was told to go a different way. After about a mile we did indeed come upon the SUPER MACHE. This store is France's Walmart I guess. Too huge for us to deal with, so we just got what we needed and escaped.     ... pads – how the other half live huh? So we had a good nosey at those and then had a look at the village. We came across a big local market, and also noted that all the bakeries were open in the morning, so there was going to be food today – haha
