      ... the old town - lots of people (glad we are not here in summer) and the main city street, went into at least 6 churches or cathedrals , and also briefly visited the Modern and Contemporary Art Museum, an unbelievably stunning building of steel and glass with great city views. Can't say WE would buy any of the art on view, though. Train home, supermarket dinner and bed,walked at least 13,000 steps ...

      ... was a great experience. Fortunately leaving early , to beat the heat of the day. Arriving at the station above the city, there are a series of lifts and escalators to help locals and visitors to cope with the steepness of the site. One Irish chap we spoke to, says he is living in Monaco for 6 months, and although not at the highest point of private accommodation, still has 160 steps to negotiate up and down each time he wants to leave his apartment on the hill. ...

      ... this trek many times because dialling & talking on her mobile phone whilst navigating the tight bends didn't phase her in the slightest. St Paul de Vence is a medieval city dating from around the X111th century & the views spectacular . Very pretty indeed. We were back in Nice by 5pm... Just in time for drinks & nibbles whilst taking in the spectacular view of the Mediterranean in the comfort of the apartment ...

      ... etc....I ran into Opa and we tried to find the store John had talked about, but asked directions and was told to go a different way. After about a mile we did indeed come upon the SUPER MACHE. This store is France's Walmart I guess. Too huge for us to deal with, so we just got what we needed and escaped. We then walked back through this great big recreation area that the city has made from an old air force ...
