Brought brekky this morning at the Cologne railway station because we discovered they have lovely yogurt and muesli. Then we went shopping. I bought a pair of German shoes, made in Hamburg, for $52! Rosanne bought a very comfortable pair of new season shoes for a little more. While we were in the hotel lounge this morning we overheard a group of Brits on a coach tour being corralled into where they needed to go by their super efficient tour guide and made a ...

Found unbelievable bargain at a 5* Hotel. & couldn't resist. To put it into context the breakfast cost 50% of the room rate! We didn't have breakfast! Even better, parking was also extra but as GG was too tall for their underground car park, we had to park with the smart cars in front of the Hotel at no charge. Hilarious!

... pretty much an elaborate staircase at the top of a hill. Sounds lame but was actually quite a neat little structure to see and walk through. We then headed back into Düsseldorf. We grabbed burgers at from what I could tell was a restaurant chain probably equivalent to a European Montanas. We finished off the evening with some ice cream down by the Rhine (river). It was a nice way to end a ...

... card didn't work and she needed it for the bond. A quick call to my bank confirmed that there was nothing at all wrong with the card (phew) so they were able to clear it all. A lot more key punching and a call to their main office saw us leave the office after about 40 minutes later with keys in hand. And so our journey begins... We headed out for our first night in Alsfeld Germany. We stopped on the way in Cologne. What a score there. ...
