    Another cold but clear morning as we left the apartment, in two trips down the five flights of steps, then enjoyed a coffee at a cafe on the corner. We had seen the nearby taxi ranks each day we have been here, but alas, today when we needed one the local authorities had closed the road to put the Christmas lights up.     Have had two Belgium beers so far at the cafe next door to where I'm staying (dangerous) and have purchased a map and made friends with the dog downstairs at the newsagent - turns out she loves Schmackos (the dog - not the owner, but you never know).

    No exciting pics yet, but had to take this one...

    ... long after his departure from the room, I found him getting a straight razor shave at a nearby barbershop. Following his lead, I too got a cut (choices being short or medium...I chose short and well, my hair is now short, very short) and a shave. For those of you wondering, a straight razor shave can have two outcomes: a face like a baby's bottom, or a scene from a horror movie. As it turned out, I was in good hands (literally) and came out feeling fresh and smooth. Moving on ...

    ... he would be excellent at those tours as well.  The website says the tour is a little under two hours, but Fernando is in no hurry.  Although he keeps moving, he will keep going as long as you'd like.  Best 10 Eruos I spent!
