What an incredible day in France!!! Woke up anchored in the bay of Cannes (CAN). A massive city built into the side of mountain surrounded by blue sparkling water and tons of yachts! On the tender ride over to the port we even got to see a massive yacht called the "Octopus" which had a helicopter on it! Who owns it you may ask? Why the founder of Microsoft!

Once on land we jumped on a motor bus ...

Woke a bit later today with the juddering of the ship. We had arrived in Cannes and they were lowering the boats for tendering so was causing a wee bit of movement. We had left it a bit late to book our tender off the ship and so this dictated a leisurely morning for us! Hey ho!. Grabbed breakfast of freshly made omelettes and then sat up on top deck with a coffee and lapped up the sunshine. It was looking ...

At the station there was our buddy, Samuel Chwalibog waiting to take us to his new home town of Forcalquier (he used to live in Marseilles). ... on the red carpet like ultimate wannabes. We then walked along the handprints past the Prada and Chanel shops and into the docks. Yesterday I said the yachts were incredible. They're not. They're PHENOMENAL. Ultimate luxury. I would very much like one. Daaaaadddddddd?! For dinner we thought we had enjoyed Cannes a bit too much and should step back abit. So we had dinner by candlelight on the beach. Standard. We both had salmon and...erm... French rosé ...

... was blowing and it was really pleasant. The harbour was fascinating and we did see some special cars. We also went along a cliff path and found bronze plaques of famous soccer players so Daryl was pretty happy to find Pele and Maradona. Back on the bus for a short drive to Nice. Out with the buongiorno and in with the bon jour. We were all getting a little bit confident with Italian - it's very forgiving. Now I have to put my French lessons into practice! We had a quick tour ...
