Blois also boasts a magnificent Cathedral and and a small medieval quarter with cobblestone streets and stone staircases. You would expect to get a bit blasé about all these towns with medieval quarters, cobblestone streets, magnificent old buildings etc, but each town we ride into feels exciting as it begs to be explored.

Day 3 of our road trip was originally going to take us to Rouen, where Joan of Arc was killed etc, but after checking it out more thoroughly on a map, I realised that Rouen was actually a pretty big city, and I was already nervous enough about driving around the countryside with all these mad French drivers.
