      Stella Plage

A travel blog entry by johndibbo on Nov 21, 2014

This is south of Le Touquet Plage! En route yesterday we lunched at Fort Mahon Plage, a huge aire with free water and vid angle facilities but the whole place seemed closed, a ghost town almost! Moved on the Stella Plage, finding our first Beaujolais Nouveau, superb even! Honore Lavigne selected for a gold medal by Jean Luc Pouteau ( described on the ...

      Le Hourdel

A travel blog entry by johndibbo on Nov 20, 2014

Ended up here agin after inspecting two other aires, both OK but a bit dirty underfoot and one had to pay. ... from what we saw, it is a busy little town. It is one fairly long street with shops on both sides and the Gare behind. We've stocked up on some little things we like - deodorant for Millie's litter tray and her cat food. The ranges in the supermarkets have changed substantially in the past 13 weeks and we see the way the French eat is very ...

... and they have it with everything including stews ,we thought the Yanks were bad ! Dinner was at a place with table cloths , napkins , and attentive service ( our first experience ) chervil and fish soup for entree , Belgian T bone, with chips, and the best pear sorbet ever very nice . 19 September After breakfast we walked up to have a look at the fish market ( no fish ) only runs on Wednesday . Motored out of town more or less successfully and had our first and only stop for the day ...
