... adaptors to save weight. so i spent 4 hrs thinking how on earth i was going to navigate to bordeaux without a gps given my map which has a scale of 10k=1cm....i.e. not at all helpful for cycling, is hence useless for navigation. its funny but those few hours felt completely different as i just thought that was it, no more communicating with home, it finally felt like i was travelling by myself in the unknown. no more french lessons on my iPod or BBC news, or films/tv in english ...
Cognac
... aussi l'intention d'y acheter une bouteille de vin, mais comme les francais ne travaillent pas de midi a 14h00 nous nous sommes rive le nez sur la porte de la maison du vin.
Ensuite, nous nous sommes diriges vers la ville de Cognac, un petit detour, mais c'etait encore une fois pour une bonne cause : nous voulions parfaire nos connaissances sur la fabrication ...

It is a shame that they do not publish their names so that we could place comments on their blogs. I realy enjoyed my stay at La Giraudiere and Paul the host was fabulous to live and work with. My stay at LG will stay with me for the rest of my life so go spam on someone else's blog not mine.

It took my breath away
... enjoying the music and dancing all on their own. They seemed to understand me very well and soon I was twirling them around in circles to their delight and amusement of anyone who watched. The older girl could not stop speaking to me in French and seemed to understand the very limited French I did seem to get out. It was just so sweet how she was telling me so many things. I felt like I was back in Taiwan 9 years ago when the kids (especially the little ones) also always spoke ...
Sunshine, peace & good food and drink
... supermarket for 15 minutes when we were told that they were shutting for lunch and would open at 2:30 (2 hours later). So we popped across the road to a little cafe for lunch and we both went for the plait de jour which was pieces of veal, mushrooms, red peppers and onions on a bed of mixed pasta.
