With the bikes off loaded and the dogs trailer assembled and attached off we set, first setback, the cycle path access point was blocked due to roadworks, not to be put off we went up and over the flood barrier and continued on our ride. The cycle path was great and took us to the centre of Tours where we parked up and went for a stroll before ...

Have had our first French Tabac experience in Broglie Tabac, Bar, Coffee and Betting shop very diverse and busy. Penny a little upset as everyone wearing wellies and she loves wellies.

It is a perfectly delicious ending to an opulent and extravagant tour!

The final stop for the day was Chambord. This is arguably the grandest of the Loire chateaus. Built by Francis I as a hunting lodge, it was impossible to heat in winter and overrun by mossies when first built, until the local swamps were drained. The place is massive - almost too big to comprehend. No wonder the French people eventually ...

... and the gardens were also beautiful. Tonight we had the option of going to Tours with a dinner included. We walked around the town and visited the basilica. After the walking tour we had dinner in the Leonardo da Vinci restaurant where we also had a guy playing the guitar and singing all night with us joining in. It was great having Summer there as she translated for most of the night. It ...
