... and an entire block of restaurants and bars. There was a huge park and people flying giant kites along the Rhine. And that was about it. Because everything else was closed. Today we learned that All Saints Day is a national holiday here and not the best day to explore a city. The more you know. Tomorrow we start our road trip! We are picking up the car at the airport and then off to Amsterdam! I'm excited to have a bit more freedom in when we go ...

... is in celebrates All Saints Day on November 1st, so there are a lot of things that are closed. We still got a good feel for the city though. Tomorrow, we're renting the car and driving to Amsterdam! I'm nervous about driving somewhere where I can't read the signs! ... I get off the tram to a quiet platform in a quaint neighborhood, walk as directed and I was met half way by Tory and the kids. It was great to see her again after 5 years and meet the little ones whom I've only seen in photos. Lucas was quite shy at first and wouldn't even look at me, but eventually would become a little more chatty in his cute British accent. We got to their place and caught up as started she dinner for the kids. Carlos soon got home from work and we ...

Today we got up and had some quiche for breakfast. It was delicious.

We headed to the station for our day trip to Dusseldorf. We caught the train, which was about 30minutes. Arrived in town and headed for Alstadt (old town).

We passed a long stream/lake with great statues. This was the fancy side of town with all the shopping streets. We then headed for the Rhine where we found the great sightseeing tower. It was a ...
