It is Erev Shabbat Yitro and I am sitting in a van filled with people who only speak languages I don't know, headed to climb a 7500 foot mountain in the dark. They are all younger than I am, some much younger, and have food and water with them, while I seem to have much more clothing. I’m sweating in the overheated van as we drive from Sharm …

The reason I love Sharm el-Sheikh so much is it's a holiday mecca! The place - a gorgeous sea view beach setting - has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Yes it's nice to see the locals and culture on holidays, but here you don't experience the down sides of this. From clubbing to quading in the desert, diving to fine food, this place has everything for an enjoyable ...

The taxi drivers in sharm are infamous for bullying foreigners and their starting ask price for the 10min ride to downtown sharm is 300egp. I read online that the lowest possible price is ~30egp but that was before fuel prices spiked here and prices increased across the board. Upon landing, I made a bee line away from the taxi stand to the ...

... had gone flat and the computer refusing to do anything. Having fallen asleep so early Jo was wide awake at 0300 and actually went for a nocturnal wander around the ship in search of a cup of tea. She managed to find tea but no hot water, actually between 0200 and 0400 there is no form of nourishment available on the ship, continental breakfast starts at 0400. Nick was up at twenty past 5 having accidentally had his 8 hours sleep and in the gym for opening time at six ...

Only a 4 1/2 hour flight, arrive earlier than normal so a couple of hours sunlight left. Interesting journey via taxi to the hotel, which included having to get out of it as we got grounded on a sleeping policeman! Hotel is very spread out, nice gardens. First rooms not to good but the girls manage secure new ...
