... to get up and possibly head .. well . . anywhere. I instinctively knew that my journey was about to twist. We decided to go in on a car together and head to the coast of Sunny Beach and stay in the antiquated town of Nessebar. It was a toss up as far as who operated the vehicle, we were both a little nervous to take on the crazy Bulgarian roads. The entire process of locating a company who could then locate a car was flat ...
Nessebar, Burgas, Bulgaria shecat88Hm... Kako bih poceo o utiscima?

Poluprazni hoteli, poluprazni restorani, poluprazni autobusi ...
Sunny Beach, Burgas, Bulgaria marionovisad10th June

Plovdiv to Nessebar (on the Black Sea)

Sunny 30 degrees

We made our way out of Plovdiv through the city and then along a cobbled road where we saw another stork nest, this time on a church steeple. The drive to Nessebar was fairly easy with some motorways and reasonably wide roads. The passed huge fields of barley, sunflowers (not yet flowering) and vineyards. We arrived at Nessebar but found it is only open to residential traffic so had to park ...
Nessebar, Burgas, Bulgaria souter... but didn't have road numbers. But the compass indicated it was the right direction and I sped off along a wide straight road that intersected the motorway. It was so strange to be making 18-20 kmh after the last few days 8kmh crawl. I passed under the motorway and a lot of the traffic turned off and continued towards a low ridge. Then came a sign for a road to a minor village. this sign was unusually comprehensive and showed that I needed the ...
Burgas, Bulgaria i_could_walk... To reach Nessebar I took the small ferry that runs from Sunny Beach. It was cold and very windy day and the sea was really choppy for the short crossing over to Nessebar but was fun nonetheless. After disembarking the ferry you are immediatley faced with ruins of the old city walls, a favourite with tourists. Walking through the town is like being in a Swiss Alpine village with lots of small cobbled ...
Nessebar, Burgas, Bulgaria gfleming... received falls festival tickets which was super news. We had spent so long trying to find net and the hotel guy kept coming out to help people park so we felt a little dodgy and packed it up to go out for tea. Went out to this lovely little touristy restaurant where we bullied the waiter into letting us have a 7 seated table by the window. We had an amazing bottle of pinot noir and we both ordered some sach and shaslic but we didn't go as crazy ...
Sozopol, Bulgaria leahandgregBurgas was hosting the first ever MTV Spirit of Burgas festival with Groove Armada, Koseen, Ministry of Sound etc. It was situated on the beach, had an electric atmosphere, great music and was bouncing! All for £20 as well. If you happen to see the festival on MTV you will probably see me & G. Aside from the festival there is nothing happening in Burgas.
Burgas, Burgas, Bulgaria stevewadeSunny Beach is a holiday resort on the coast of Bulgaria. It's basically sunbathe all day and booze all night. Lots of British, Sweedish, Norwegian, Dutch and German tourists. Not the nicest place in the world but good for a chill out and a few nights on the lash.
Sunny Beach, Bulgaria stevewade... to the red road involved long detours on that that seemed to pass every mountain peak between here and Gallipolli. The villages looked so remote that probably the only annual visitor was the Grim Reaper. How would they react to moi turning up in my best dusty lycra going "hija!"? Only one way to find out.... So, as I ground my way along the backroads I was increasingly flagged down by friendly locals who said "stop ...
Burgas, Burgas, Bulgaria springy100Velki Preslav to Burgas Distance 162km Best bit: sun Worst bit: having to throw myself into the gutter 5 times today to avoid oncoming traffic!! Well, the Black Sea isnt black. Its kind of a rich blue with gentle waves. The sand feels good under my feet :)
