... mine haha. We checked out downstairs with cool hippie-German clerk and then set out on a search for churros con chocolate. Yes, you read that right. What an amazing combination! I know! You are served a heaping plate of churros and a mug full of thick chocolate, used for dipping. Oh and sugar too, of course ;). Unfortunately, the churros weren't very impressive. I'd say they get better the farther north you go in Andalucia. The rest of the morning ...
Cádiz, Andalusia, Spain vneagSo today we didn't have an excursion because we had our own private tour guides in Rachel's host family from three years ago. They met us at the pier and were so happy to see Rachel it was great! They took us on a walking tour of historic Cadiz and we had breakfast at one of their places they like and we had churros an coffee with milk. Loly knew everyone we walked by it seemed and although they spoke no English and we speak little Spanish we were ...
Cádiz, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands mamafeathers... set up a little ladder so that the mice could drink the sherry out of a wine glass!

Then we went to the horse show. Very similar to what the Lippanzaner Stallions do. It was…an experience…but I don’t think I’ll ever go watch something like that again. But I can at least say that I've seen it.
Cádiz, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands big_red_truck... the way we stopped in Olvera so Mike could get his photo of the village and church tower. We arrived to Nerja very late and couldn't plug in the address in our handy-dandy gps - so we had to call the owner in the UK to give us directions. it was kind of late by the time we got to the house (after midnight). ugh! this was a long, long day! But, we're excited to be at the beach for the next 7 days. Shae can't wait to get her feet wet in the mediterranean.
Chiclana de la Frontera, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands dovi... where we bought a few cans of the Cruzcampo beer and a 1.5 L bottle of Tinto de Verano - a type of cheap red wine with lemonade. We went to see the pier with the Castillo de San Sebastian, the Castillo de Santa Catalina, the cathedral, the old town and the beautiful Parque Genoves with waterfalls and parrots, and it was pretty much everything, so we went to the famous la Caleta beach and enjoyed ourselves there.

To my surprise, the beach was full of people ...
Da zoude dus ni moeten proberen in Antwerpen.

Cádiz, Spain verow... and my Spanish, for the first time all trip, utterly failed me. I had a few horrible seconds of terror, like a deer in the headlight, staring wide-eyed into the camera that seemed like it was suddenly barreling down on me. Then I slowly uttered, "Barrssah! (Which is the Catalan way of saying it) they laughed and said that they were from Villarreal and they continued the interview some more asking me what the score was going to be, who was going to score, etc. I'm sure somewhere on ...
Cadiz, Spain jsiker... the pictures, as you can see from the few I've posted. After the Alcazar, we went straight to the Cate-zquita (Catedral-Mezquita that I've shortened in many ways). It was an amazing sight. It looks "big" from the outside but you really have NO idea HOW big until you enter. The columns just NEVER end and the decorations go on forever. It actually started off as one room and throughout the centuries, many more rooms were added. A really nice patio starts the tour ...
