Siiiiiiiiii
We arrived in Cala de Calobra around 5:30. We anchored in the small bay and took a tender to shore. The little village has a small pier along one side of a steep hill and the village is crowded on the hillside raising between two much larger and steeper hills. The whole thing looks like some Hollywood set because of its idyllic setting on the small bay. There are several bars and restaurants where we got drinks and ate an early dinner.
sa Calobra, Balearic Islands, Spain mylifesjourneyWe left Ciutadella around 8 AM to cross back over to Mallorco and into the Bahai de Pollença. It is a deep cut and large protected bay on the northwest corner of the island. We anchored out in the bay, away from other boats and the crew setup everything for watersports. Since everyone was more spread out and busy with different ...
Port de Pollença, Balearic Islands, Spain mylifesjourneyJust south of the town of Portocristo are the Cuevas del Drach, which are really four caves all connected to each other. This cave however has a large lake in it, called Martel Lake. It's large enough to ride a boat in and to see all the stalactites hanging from the ceiling. It’s a beautiful place ...
Porto Cristo, Balearic Islands, Spain and Canary Islands mylifesjourney10 days of enjoying the good life up in the north of Mallorca.
After a turbulent trip I finally arrived on the very first day of my summerholidays and got picked up by my sister and her friend for some shopping in Palma! (Luckily we did not get affected by the ETA attacks, we heared about that much later that day!)
The rest of the day though I spend sleeping at the beach- not ...
... every morning!
Then we either spend our days at the beach, relaxing, sleeping, reading, swimming, taking underwater pictures... or we went off to discover the island with the convertible- good fun, especially with a lot of good music!
One day we went to Pto. Pollensa to shop in the old city centre and then climb the 365 stairs to the Calvary Mountain with its` chapel on the top.
Another tour took us to ...
... I climbed the road up the hill to photograph it but found the small area in front of the church filled with trucks that had apparently come up from Palma for some film project. There would have been no way to get a picture of the church without having it half-obscured by the trucks.
The road to Orient is a very narrow little track with lots of 180 degree switchbacks that had me turning the wheel of my little car until it hit the stop in order to make it ...
... Adam Diehl. He built a hotel for his friends who came to visit, but he and his sheirs have permitted no other development so the entire peninsula is still very wild. As rugged as the terrain is I'd think it would be hard for developers to blanket the place with hotels, villas, apartments and restaurants for tourists but I have to admit that developers have been much more inventive in this regard than I ever would have thought.

Maths in the square at night, being awesome at the quiz, teaching it to swim, vodka and top trumps each night, the boy crying about play club, the boy loving play club, the convertible red beast (megane), fred dancing with me, all the AWFUL people that go to those places (us not included)
Majorca, Balearic Islands, Spain thesanchez... Bernie at a bar in Cala d'Or. When we got to the bar, the match had already started; everyone there was wearing Argentina shirts and had flags ready for waving in the air. Everyone greeted Ed and I and made us feel comfortable and welcomed. The match was exciting, since Argentina had possession of the ball most of the time, but despite this no goals were made, ending in a tie, but first in our Group. This would mean we would play Mexico Saturday night. Everyone ...
