    ... seeing the proper defense structures. We had lunch in the castle. It was clearly a tourist destination, given the crowds, but they were almost exclusively Czech so we were a bit of a surprise for the restaurant staff - but they recovered quickly and found someone who could help translate the menu for us.

    Went to airport but to visit travelex. Heading towards Auschwitz and trying to keep of the highways, had lots of breaks and from the road. Went looking for a camp site but it was closed so found a very nice and friend hotel half way up the mountains.     ... finding a website announcing the dates for the year before and finding out the hard way - turning up and it being empty.
    This downfall I would say is the biggest downfall in the whole country - the websites tend to be only in Czech, hard to navigate and with poor information quality.
    But hey, if you brave it out here people in information centres (which are in every little village) will help and they all speak English.

    ... to get together, drink some home made liquor, and gossip.

    My Uncle, Aunt, and Malgosia also came and I showed everybody a slide-show of pictures from the last two years of my life. Gave the ladies material for the next several get-togethers. They were oo-ing and oh-ing over how grown up my children are and how diverse my students are and how adorable my dog looks. All in all a very successful party.
