... Up a very steep hill (had three today) and Tomas lied to us, he told us the Czech Republic was flat! Stopped in the village of Stary Jicin Palacov to visit the local Pekarna Anezka bakery which is famous for their home made genuine Walachian "frgal" cakes. These are a flat, pizza size cake with many different toppings, we had a poppy seed & cottage cheese version, it was very good. Off again heading east after "talking" to Kate on Viber on a street whilst ...

65 kms.... AM - Had breakfast in Pension Kriva, Lana was able to smuggle enough breakfast goodies for our lunch today, and leaving Olomouc we spotted a veggie & fruit market in a courtyard so ducked in for some fruit. Also handy there were other cyclists riding along the bike trail, just followed them! Our ride ...

... a maccas breakfast, and on zero sleep, trudged half an hour to our hotel. We arrived a bit after 10am. No rooms available. We sat, we waited. We got in a room around 1 and slept until 3.30pm. We headed into old town for dinner, and enjoyed a delicious Polish feast. The Polish Platter had Schnitzel, sausage, roast potato, black pudding and a spicy sauce. Nat chose an excellent pork knuckle. The beer wasn't bad ...

... they look at each other and it's not only for the picture, trust me. They loaded a couple more bags of food into our car and we were on our way.

Of course, as soon as we got on the road, the rainstorm started. I usually LOVE rain, but it quickly turned to hail and by Raciborz we had to stop to let it pass. When it calmed down we continued through a little corner of the Czech Republic, which shortens the trip ...

... paprika stew, and baby potatoes. Ania relaxed on the porch with a book. I love seeing that because she works way too hard and rarely takes time for herself. She is good people, as they say. I got to watch "Don Mateo," my summer indulgence, and read a bit more of my new book. At about the time that obiad was ready, it started to rain. Disappointed, we ate inside and hoped for better weather. The sun must have heard us and soon it peeked through the clouds, just ...
