In a nutshell- Cousin Corrado took us all over Lake Como, including to the castle where they filmed Casino Royale, and George Clooney's place! He took us up the mountain side. We always thought that we were at the top, but then we went higher! We went for a walk around the area. We went down to S. Segmente for an expresso and then up into the hills. We also went to Lugano Lido where Corrado works in Switzerland for a fun day of swimming. The ...

... We wander around checking out all the menus and quickly conclude we should be here without the boys. Between the wine bars and craft beer places, a return visit may be on the cards. We eventually find a restaurant which suits and it's delicious. She said the gluten free pasta came with a tomato sauce. We envisioned, ...

... until 7pm for dinner. Italians eat dinner late and linger for hours. It makes it hard a times to find a quick quality dinner. I consulted Trip Advisor on my phone and found this little local family spot that is part of a hotel. When we walked by - we weren't even sure it was open as no one was in there. Through the window, I saw a guy in a chefs outfit walking around which was a hopeful sign. Amy suggested we just go in and ask if they were open - it ...

A storm overnight has cleared the humidity and left a pleasant breeze wafting through the cottage. The Cottage - what a find, thank you Airbnb. It is very clean, well equipped for simple self catering and has a view from the tiny balcony to die for. It is located one residence back from the lake frontage and is surrounded by local residences with the Nona's and locals sitting outside in the cobblestone alcoves and chatting in the cool of last evening until well after ...
