... situation is where we are parallel to a slip road, and a vehicle is coming alongside with the intention of slipping into the lane behind me. I have seen the 'Oh! ****' moment many times, when the driver realises that there is something behind Monty, and has to brake - hard!
We still observe the 'boy racer' driver here in France. The type that insists on overtaking in low speed zones or at speed humps, but they aren't common.
