For me Dahab was a time to just relax, read a couple of books from the travellers library, sleep and relax a bit more! The hotel is built on terraces down the side of the hill with massive mountain outcrops behind us and a view across the Gulf of Acqaba to Saudi Arabia in front of us. Cette semaine j'ai un groupe, un autre, francais cette fois, de Strasbourg. Groupe sympa. ... Then we drove down the road a bit to En Gedi Beach for our Dead Sea Swim. The beach consists of calcified salt that you have to tread gingerly over and then slide down the salt crusted bank into the water. It was lots of fun and the kids really enjoyed it, it’s such a bizarre feeling not being able to push your legs down. And if you get out a way, it’s quite hard to make your way back to shore!! How do you know you have been in Egypt too long?

First off, they ask if my BF is "from Cairo", as in born-in-Cairo. I suppose that's because he looks a bit like an Arab and he’s tan and tall and wears designer American brands (like Columbia and REI). Sometimes they just speak to him in Arabic – I imagine they are saying “Hey, you, tall Egyptian, how much for the Gringo girl?” Okay, maybe not.
