    While in Dahab, we also completed our deep diving course, certifying us to dive to 40 metres depth. One of the skills required for completion of the deep diving course was to write our name backwards at depth underwater while being timed. The rational for completing such a silly task is to monitor for the effects of nitrogen narcosis. Needless to say that I was able to write my name 10 seconds faster underwater at 40m than on ...

    ... to know my guide and learned a lot about camels. There are different types of camels. The ones we rode up the mountain were much smaller than the ones by the pyramids. Camels see very well at night and it is better not to use a flashlight. They are very sure - footed so just let them go, and hang on for the ride. They only need to drink water every 5 to 7 days. They seem pretty good natured.

    ... based on information I'd found out. Once the 'unresponsive diver' or weight belt was found, my buddy became said diver and lay prone on the ocean floor. I then had to bring him to the surface and tow him to shore, while providing rescue breaths and taking off his and my equipment. On reaching shore, I had to take him out of the water and carry him to dry sand, and then provide CPR until 'emergency services' came. It was hard work! But I passed ...

    ... and make me feel very anxious about walking down the promenade once they start recognising me and try to make me feel bad about ignoring them. I am never rude to people just trying to make a living but some of them just don't take no as an answer which leads me to start avoiding leaving the hotel at all.
