... fun being silly and snapping shots with virtually no people around!! And we totally killed it with our timing and were in and out in a little over an hour! We were pretty proud of our navigation skills. The customs/police even laughed at us when we came back as they were incredulous that we'd gone and come back already. We arrived at Rothenburg late afternoon, found some accomodation in a hotel which was nice & headed into the Old Town.

Rothenberg was beautiful in a Disneyland kind of way. (Not meant as a criticism as you know how we love Disney). We just felt it had a more staged, touristy feel to it. Probably not helped by the obvious bus loads of ...

Saxon silver trail

... It also produced the Trabant a metal and plastic car used all over the Eastern bloc. The museum there is very well done. As we left town we passed this incredibly large VW plant. Now you know. Our home for the night was on a mixed use parking lot next to the downtown area and the town center...the lot was big enough for several hundred cars but you could here a pin drop at night. And, in the corner was a very efficient public toilet -stainless steel, clean and only one half ...
