We are now approaching the Saxon "Switzerland" on the border with the Czech Republic. This is mining country and reminds me if the Colorado mining area. Silver and a bunch of rare earth metals were hauled out of this region until the mines died. The towns south and east of Zwichau are deep in the hills and now create the most incredible wood carved items and handmade lace.
