Well I had forgotten the things I love so much about Dubai - "The Heat" (40C) - "The Sweat" - "The Dust" - Yeah right as if you could forget!! On the plus side - "No flies", not surprising they couldn't get air borne in this heat - and? But what an amazing place!! The rate at which they are erecting buildings is incredible. ... that due to the temperature already at 40C it would be more pleasant (and dearer) to go with a private driver who could also take us to the sites we wanted to see tomorrow! Breakfast was the next thing on the agenda - and with it came Peters 2nd shock for the trip so far - he returned to the table with some small chicken and beef sausages with his scrambled eggs..... He'd forgotten that pork (and therefore bacon) was not eaten by Muslims!! The look on his face was priceless!!! ...

So, 8 stops on the green line from Al Ras to Stadium metro stop. It was 7:45pm and k.o was at 8:30. A few supporters were starting to arrive so we just followed them. ... things that were for sale were fur coats, every shop was full of fur coats and not a single soul was in any of them. I wonder who buys fur coats in Dubai? Eventually we walked back to where we were in the first place. The Indian cargo boats are truly amazing. The quay was piled high with goods in cardboard boxes and the wooden ships looked as if they weren't sea-worthy enough to go in a bath tub.
