Back in Tasmania

Well folks I'm now back Down Under. We flew back from Kota Kinabalu into Johor Bahru where we enjoyed a couple of nights at the Hyatt. Yeah, I know we're supposed to be backpacking but it actually cost us less to stay at the Hyatt (all five stars of it) than it was to stay at the Youth Hostel in Sydney. If you're out this way and feel like a bit of luxury check out www.asiarooms.com, you can get up to 75% off the standard rates. Anyway, we crossed the border back to Singapore in a taxi, so mu...

Here, there and everywhere!

Sitting here is Tasmania, looking back at a frantic week or so. Three countries, three planes, two borders and a taxi ride! After a late flight back on Sunday night to Johor Bahru, we spent a couple of nights in another Hyatt - still enoying the luxury of the spa and the gorgeous swimming pool. Took a walk into Johor and just about got to the mall (after a slight deviation - the map was clearly wrong!) before a massive thunderstorm. Went to see a Hong Kong movie with subtitles which was my fi...

Singapore - our last stop in SE Asia...for now!

Leaving Johor Bharu heading for Singapore felt quite surreal! We could walk to the immigration point from our hotel within 5 minutes and literally walked out of Malaysia, onto a bus that took us into Singapore!

We were dropped off at a metro stop where we then took the metro to Lavender station where we were staying at a ...

One Month on The Road

Apr 28th. A walk through Little India's fascinating colourful street stalls to Mustafa's (massive department store) and arrived at exactly the same time as a tropical downpour. Great timing. Mustafa's has a huge hardware selection so that's where Dave headed whilst I explored three floors of, well, just about everything. Sun Tec was our next port of call for a much needed laptop charger to replace the one I didn't leave ...

... Antin kannalta kovin houkuttelevan nakoiselle kiinalaiselle selkaklinikalle. Antti yritti toivoa vain lyhytta puolen tunnin hierontaa, mutta ensin piti kuulemma menna tutkittavaksi ja tutkimuksen perusteella poppatohtori sitten paattaisi, riittaako 20 euron hieronta vai tarvitaanko mahdollisesti lisaksi 14 euron akupunktiohoito. No, vahan Anttia (itsekin yksityisena terveyspalvelujen tuottajana) havetti ajatella niin, mutta vakisinkin tuli jo ...
