We travelled from Brisbane to Mt Coolum and stayed at the wonderful Hyatt Regency, near Claudes sisters home. We dined with family on the first evenng and then at the Hyatt the next. Jilly shopped and Claude played golf. The large geese were amusing and demanded some attention.
Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia claudehendy Determined to stretch our trip out for as long as possible, we managed to tap on a final week of relaxation (because we really didn't think we'd had quite enough) on the shores of northern Queensland.
With family and friends having planned a holiday up here to coincide with our return, we thoroughly enjoyed catching up with everyone while they too were in 'holiday mode'.
Continuing on with what we'd become quite adept at doing, we soaked up some more sun, ate some more great fo...

... on the way back. We were home by 5.30pm expecting to find Greg already back, but were surprised to find he still hadn’t returned. I called him to enquire at what time he would be finished and if he was shouting us dinner on his winnings. Unfortunately he had an ordinary day and there would be no eating out - just left over’s!

Greg maintains his concentration was shot once he found some old mates in the bar and joined up ...
Coolum Beach, Queensland, Australia millersofoz... came along for the free feast, but she was soon chased off by the dominant male (that's my boy). These light grey Humped Back Dolphins are an endangered species as they can only live inshore & their natural habitat is disappearing, being overrun with marinas - very sad. Our motel owner recommended dinner at the "Tin Can Bay Country Club" where they serve a reasonable steak & some reasonably priced wine. We were lucky because there was a ...
Noosa Heads, Australia chris-barbara... AR was heading into. At this stage there was enough dawn light for MrJ to see the water's surface and to be able to tell what changes were happening on that water surface or in the distance where the swell had hit the solid mass of the sand bars and was breaking with great rolls of foaming white surf. During the past few days, the bar had been unpassable, with the weather condition steeping the seas and making a real mess over the sand bars and through the inlet. This ...
Brisbane, Queensland, Australia nancyjean... had turned into a mini furnace so we got up and sat about for a couple of hours before heading to Noosa's Beaches. There is one area called Laguna Bay which is my favourite place. Id move there straight away if we could. The apartments on the beach front cost about $2 million to buy though, so even renting I think they would be slightly out of our range. Il keep my eye out though :P On the way back we drove to a place called ...
Coolum Beach, Queensland, Australia christinauk... many people. I met there Diarmoid, the irish guy from Airlie Beach and we spent half a day on the beach. We had lunch at the surfers club what was very good. Went for a walk and a swimm afterwords before heading back to my bus around 6pm. On the bus I met a woman around 45 who asked me where I was from and if I would like to have a glass of wine with her. As I missed my but to the resort I went with her for a long talk. She was a little bit wierd, wanted to take 100 pics from her and ...
Noosa, Queensland, Australia cielo... as big as the size of your palms and the fish was so white and meaty that any cat would have had a heart attack just looking at it. Naturally such a town has an aquarium 'Underwater World' and we went along to it and had a behind the scenes tour where we were able to stoke the baby leopard sharks and turtles before going in the underground tunnel where we had their big brothers swimming around above and around us. Having driven quite a ...
Noosa, Queensland, Australia tina.bill... time (!). The lake was so choppy that the other English couple managed to sink their boat, one of the funniest things we've seen all trip! Fortunately the lake we started on was quite shallow, and all the kit was kept in water proof barrels, so apart from getting a bit wet, no damage was done. We were all a bit wary of the bull sharks however, which were said to inhabit the tidal lake. During our lunch break at the information center just at the ...
Noosa, Australia felicitybAs it was quite a hot day we decided to go for a walk through the Noosa National Park - lots of rain forest and shade! We walked about 10km's and crikey was it jammed packed! After wandering only 500m or so I spotted our first koala in the wild. It was assuming the usual position, tucked up and asleep. We walked along the coast line for a couple of km's and found some beautiful beaches and coves and possibly a Dolphin out at sea ...
