Flew back to Adelaide today for the big 50th weekend!!! It all went well and Madam and I stayed at the Hyatt for a couple of nights. Had a few friends and family together at Parisis for a lovely evening.
Adelaide, South Australia, Australia jimandelleMichelle had to start work bright and early at 8:00am. Our hotel's breakfast buffet was included in the room price, so every morning Mitch would get up early to join Michelle for breakfast before work. The full buffet was delicious, even serving free espresso drinks. This work week was the most intense for Michelle, as she was conducting trainings every day. Her Australian coworkers were very nice and welcoming! They took her out to lunch on the first day by the beach area, Glenelg. It was a ...
Adelaide, South Australia, Australia mitchmichThe daytime was pretty much the same with Michelle working and Mitch following his routine. Michelle's trainings were very productive yet time consuming, and she was realizing that her time in the office was going to fly by! The Australian work environment is very similar to the U.S., whereas the Thai and Malaysian offices had more differences. Michelle's coworker, Irma, invited us over to her house in the evening. She lives nearby, as everything in Adelaide seems to be within 15 minutes. A t...
Adelaide, South Australia, Australia mitchmichThis evening we decided to check out the beach area in Adelaide - Glenelg. There was a tram right outside of our hotel, which was very convenient for the half hour ride down there. Unfortunately, it was pouring rain, but that made our evening more of an adventure! Glenelg was such an adorable beach town. We walked around, trying to choose a restaurant from the many options. As we walked, we checked out some tourist shops, which was fun. Finally, we found a spot just right for the two of us......
Adelaide, South Australia, Australia mitchmichNow that the work week was over, it was time to have some fun! Michelle's coworker, Irma, and her husband, Patrick, planned a great evening out for us. We started with dinner at a scrumptious Italian restaurant. It was a full dinner with appetizers, main courses and wine. The wine was a local South Australian wine, from one of the Adelaide vineyards...so good! We shared great stories and laughs over dinner. What better way to end a dinner than by stopping at the nearby "Gelatissimo" for gelat...
Adelaide, South Australia, Australia mitchmichToday was the best day in Australia...what a way to end our trip!! Irma and Patrick picked us up bright and early for a trip to the Clelend National Park. This park has free roaming native Australian animals - koalas, kangaroos, emus, Tasmanian devils, dingos, wallabies, and much more! We bought animal food at the entrance of the park, then began the fun day adventure. We were just in time for the 10:00am koala viewing. The koalas were sooo cute and soft. They were like huge stuffed animals!...

The Wine Song lyrics http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgkHd6e BfoE Song and melodies change and change And sway But they still stay the same The songs that we sung when the dark days come Are the songs that we sung when we chased them away If I ever found a pot of gold I'd buy bottles untold of the nectar of the vines I'm going to die with a twinkle in my eye 'cause I sung songs spun stories loved laughed and drank wine Tomorrow is ...
Adelaide, South Australia, Australia twinsparkle... classes as I do move alot, but the music room is right next to the gym so not too bad. The school has a smaller population that Brooks but uses 3 floors and lots of narrow stairwells to move. The gym only has 4 badminton courts wide, but there is a small area off it for 7 table tennis tables and then a classroom. I have yet to check out the wieght room but will do that next week. My classes are all much smaller than Canada, the largest 25 so far ...
Adelaide, South Australia, Australia holleykm... so I readily accepted the challenge. Greg was very sheepish, not his bullish self, he knew he was going to go down... I won easily, even with a sore left calf, although I pulled up near limp - had better not do that again for a while or I will tear it in half!! We split up in the main shopping drag, Greg took the kids to the bank first, me to Telstra shop. Some 15mins after I had begun the dialogue with the sales guy, Greg wandered in. I asked some time after that ...

When I arrived, only a few were on the beach, some were fishing from the jetty. This time I saw the pelicans in their natural habitat instead of in a park. Quite amazing birds, love watching them fly and try to catch fish. With an almost cloudless sky, the sun was rather hot, even with the wind blowing. Fortunately I used lots of sunblock, still got quite a fierce tan.
Adelaide, South Australia, Australia christiannevn... Drive 10km to the Dutchman's Stern Conservation Park, where we find out that we have no battery in the camera, so there is no photo record. The 11km walk starts pretty gently on fairly dry ground, with a lot of wildflowers, then starts to climb through scrubby timber to an escarpment, where we stop for morning tea and look out over the plains, with Quorn in the distance. There are rock outcrops and rocky slopes, but any resemblance of a ...
