    ... Lake Champlain lighthouse before taking the 9N all the way down the length of Lake George. Ate a good meal at Barnsider, called Hampton Inn and they were booked solid so we tried the Wingate by Wyndham. What a great choice. Best hotel we stayed in the whole time. Chris at the front desk was so sweet and helpful and found us a room that was a great rate and fit our needs. ...

    ... Highway is 3 lanes each way and the drive in was very quick. As usual the signage is good and makes it relatively easy to navigate without Tom if we are just looking.

    The clouds had cleared from breakfast and it was a beautiful day, not cold, very pleasant. Walked around the city for a short time taking in part of a walking tour. There are some lovely old buildings, some not so nice looking ones and some big new buildings.

    Quite a different stay last night. The hotel has a contract with Red Cross to provide accommodation for homeless families. There were quite a few families most of whom were in a separate wing from where we were. We could hear young children awake around midnight. Breakfast was an interesting experience. One lady was obviously extremely stressed by her situation and had a child who was having quite a tantrum. Mother was unable to cope and yelled at the little girl. Other mothers were ...
