Then it was off to Cattlemen's for a T-Bone. No trip to OKC is complete without a visit to this restaurant founded in 1910. The food and service were great!
... episode: long stretches without another car. By 12:30, we were pulling into our Hampton Inn on the eastern side of Oklahoma City. The kids were asleep in the back, but we got them up and out of the car, and straight to brushing teeth and bed.
Route 66 is still there, but who knows for how long? Bits and pieces are just gone. There’s a lot out there to see, but if you want to see it, better hit the road.

From Galena, we progressed to Riverton, to the Rainbow Bridge. Ironically, this is a plain white bridge crossing a very small brown trickle of water, and has been bypassed by a new road because of safety concerns. However, Route 66ers can still trundle across it because it's a very historic part of the route, and has some very photogenic Route 66 emblems at either end which rather demand to be captured. ... The coyotes entice the patrons to buy a shot and drag the person on the bar and do their thing. The body shot often involves two coyotes so I can imagine for some guys that this girl on girl action is pretty exciting. Bras are hanging from the ceiling all adding to the decor. All in all, its pretty fun but we left before the coyotes use the water gun on the customers.

We also ate at the famous Cattleman's Steakhouse near the national stockyards and had the presidential t-bone...the one that Bush likes to eat when in Oklahoma City.
Tomorrow is our longest drive on the trip as we near our final destination.
