          ... rough and scary. And the smell of car fumes was nasty. There was rubbish all over the sides of the roads and huge derelict buildings with broken windows and graffiti on the sides. I was surprised to see shrubs growing on bridges over the interstate - Jonathan said that they were old railways. It was strange to see ivy growing on old pylons and across the old electric cables.
