    ... gut! Derek had two bratwurst, Munich and Rattlesnake/Rabbit with spaetzle, Larry had a bratwurst with potato salad and I had a turkey reuben with coleslaw and spaetzle. We got home about 4:00. It was great to be home but the unpacking, pile of mail and newspapers, 21 phone messages and 284 emails kept us busy for a while. It is great to be home!

    ... on the shuttle bus. Columbus has a big indoor/outdoor shopping complex with a wide variety of stores so we wandered around, bought a few things and had lunch before we drove to Athens.     ... I love, called "Sweetie-Licious Pies", written by a gal who has a 50's-style pie/lunch diner not far from Grand Rapids; plus a few other small odds and ends.

    Then it was on to the local Walmart parking lot, where we've spent many a night en route to our various destinations. The next morning, it was on to Virginia, which begins with my next post.

    ... it was 94+ F (34+ C) with that stuff. When you're drinking near 1.5 to 2 gallons (6-8 liters) of water a day, maintaining electrolyte balance is critical. Having an option that doesn't involve a ton of sugar is even better.

    • below 90 F drinking every 15 minutes worked well. typically 3 long pulls on the Camelbak
    • above 90F drinking every 10 minutes is the way to go. 2 or 3 long pulls on the Camelbak

    ... a 2 hour nap and was feeling a little more himself. So we headed back to Erin’s who was waiting.

    On Erin’s suggestion we went to what we thought was Two Cheese (Oh noo not more deep fried food) It wound up being Touci’s an Italian Restaurant with a fantastic patio and live music and great wine list.
