Visiting my sister Yvi

... because in case I wouldn't like him, I would have to come up with a plan how to substitute him ;) But no worries Tyler scored pretty high on the scale) so my expectations were so much focused on him, that I first couldn't find out why this person on the sofa looked so familiar. For the first instance I thought, well he looks kind of small and kind of like a woman, when I finally realized that it was my Mom lying ...

Family and Friends

... different blog entry) and later met friend Barbara at Rosa Mexicano for dinner (pick another restaurant, we advise) and the theatre. We saw "The Way of the World" at the Shakespeare Theatre Company. This Congreve play was written in 1700 about human nature and sexual politics. Quoting Akiva Fox, the Literarary Associate, from the Play Bill: "...Congreve wrote this play to expose the real way of his world. He saw a society obsessed with "that idol reputation ...

Many people pitied me for living with 5 guys, but I counted myself blessed because we were able to save so much more money for our trip. We've bought the round trip place tickets to Dublin, one-way tickets on Ryanair (Europe's awesome low budget airlines) to Paris, our 2 month Global Eurail Passes, and tickets to fly into Israel. Things are falling into place. Dear ...

My Final Entry

... in Saudi Arabia was a busy one. Many of Abdullah's relatives stopped by to say good bye and wish us well (Doonia, Gadear, Najalla, and Omi). Ashwog called, she said she was too sad to say good bye in person. They all said they wanted us to stay and that they would miss us. Visiting Saudi Arabia was a wonderful experience and I feel much better now knowing how Sandye lives and that she has such warm, kind in-laws. I will miss Fahoody, Jumana, and Wadoody.

... and politics. All of which have been fascinating to me (I am such a nerd). Internship- I have accepted an internship with a small non-profit which has the lofty goal of ensuring every child in DC has a bed by the end of 2008, because many families coming out of homelessness or very low income don't even have beds in their apartments. They also do service with education of parents and children, health education, and a number of other poverty related ...

The Reality of It All...

... organised a bus to take us into Wyndam, about an hour away...hell knows why though because we passed through 3 towns to get there! There were about 15 of us so we all went to Applebees and pigged out on munch, shakes and icecream, it was awesome, we ate loooooads! It's not that we were all particularly starved, it's just that it was a novelty getting to decide what we wanted to eat, we didn't have to have the same thing! We all met the guys ...

New York City - 15/03/07

... as NYC goes, obviously I didn't have time to do it justice. But the NY skyline is awesome, probably one of the best views of a city you could hope to see. And if you are a city lover this place should be high on your agenda. Good news, when I arrived back at the hotel my luggage was waiting. So I guess I'll pick the RV tomorrow and be on my way to Washtington DC (I may bump into George W?) More to come.

... for extra training ran over to where I was sitting and asked me if I was okay. She ran to get her dad and said, "Dad, don't you think she should ice it? Elevation and ice, right Dad?" Then her dad came over and examined it. In fact, I had no fewer than nine people expressing concern and giving me advice and encouragement to heal it. I was scared because I am very dependent on my legs, but they put me right at east and one man and his daughter walked me home actually. Very ...

The Cats are back in town!

... free lunch on K Street. It rained in the morning that day, but we didn't mind because we were not out on the beach. It was on one rainy morning that we learned of a new and frightening side of one of our Bobcat girls. Evidently, you take your life in your hands when you happen to be married to Cathy on a day when the coffee maker doesn't work and it is raining outside so she can't get to the beach. I literally saw Craig cry like a little girl when someone suggested we skip ...

Piedmonts

... from Michigan, the drive through Eastern Pennsylvania and Maryland absolutely puts me in a trance. So much beauty in those rolling piedmonts and mountains. Then comes Leesburg, VA to welcome me back to the South with a statue to commorate fallen Confederate soldiers. A sort of transformation.
