4/6. Up nice and early -was a bit warmish in our room but not unbearable. Head off to find somewhere for breakfast - our hotel not doing it because of the lack of AC - what a lot of wimps! Better not come to Oz in summer! Guy decides Cafe du Monde is the go (Lonely Planet again!) - find it without much trouble - only one table left so grab it and then realise they only do coffee and beignets ( a very sweet concoction like a long donut covered in icing ...

On the way back to the hotel we called into a big sports store on Canal Street that Ian had seen yesterday as he is trying to buy a Dallas Cowboys play shirt for his number 2 daughter. Noo Awwlins is the home of the New Orleans Saints. As I said to him, it's like going into a Man City fan store and asking for a Man Utd shirt. Of course they didn't have any....

... Cathedral. Various churches have been conducting services on the site of this cathedral since 1721. The Cathedral has been standing since 1793; it has had additions and embellishments since that time.
It was an amazing place to see. The walls are lined with the most beautiful stained glass windows.
... 20.14 with 25 cent martinis. Tuxedoed waiters, serving two choices of the same sized entrees you would receive at dinner provided value and atmosphere at a price we marked down as a deal. We surmised that those 25 cent martini’s would require a post lunch nap so we chose $4 ice tea. Excellent oysters a fantastic bisque, good entrees and a pecan carmel breadcake to die for.
... on top of each other. There's a lot of run down, busted up houses (I presume as a result of hurricane Katrina), which have just been abandoned. Then across the road, or beside them there are mansions with security fences and beautiful gardens etc. Hard to know if you're in D4 or Ballymun! All in all tho, the ciy had a nice feel to it.
