... we hit one muddy section we had so much mud in our tires they wouldn’t move. We had to get sticks and get the mud out before going on. A kind local lady came to help me dig the mud out of my wheels. It was incredibly hot and we covered in sweat but the afternoon was the hardest as we were so sore by then.

We catch the ferry from Phu Quoc to Rach Gia in the afternoon, having a lie-in and a lazy morning in Phu Quoc. We roll into Rach Gia at 4 o'clock and get off the ferry looking around for a tourist office, in order to book an early bus to get us to Can Tho in the morning. Having come off the ferry we're hassled by some moto drivers (per usual) and they're insistent we go check out the bus tickets from this station. We actually go see the price of tickets ...

Now we are off to Chau Doc, Vietnam for a ngiht before crossing the border into Cambodia and taking a boat up the river to Phnom Phen.

I amjust getting back from 2 days on bus, boat and foot roaming around the Mekong Delta Region, Southwest of Saigon.I hopped on a giuded tour because it was only $20. I was suprised when the showed up ina great big luxury bus at the pickup point. Ararity with my travel luck. After lunch our (professional, remember?) guide Hi Hi literally pulls the python out of the cage by its tail and lobs it into the air to catch it across his shoulders! Blood is simmering now.....then he proceeds to try and scare numerous people with it including me who by this time couldn't even bare to look at our idiot guide. Everyone who wanted to could handle the snake....and they did it with much more grace and respect than our guide ...

Immediately upon arrival we commissioned two Tin Tin (a bicycle with a two wheeled reclined seat in the place of the front wheel) riders to take us to a guesthouse that we had read about in the guide book. Upon dropping us off, they told us that they had motorbikes and could take us on a distance tour of the city and its outskirts and would meet us back at our guesthouse in half an hour.
